Bathymetric study:  a study that measures depth of a body of water

Deep-water intake structure:  a more permanent structure that utilizes a vertical shaft and an underwater pipeline to pull water from the deepest point in the lake.

Raw water pipeline: a conduit moving water from its original source to a facility where it will be treated for multiple uses.

Regional utility authority:  a local government corporation formed to design and construct a Regional Water System that will provide treated water supplies to the cities of Cedar Park, Leander and Round Rock.

Temporary floating intake structure: an initial structure that sits on the surface of the lake and connects to an underwater pipeline. Although visible, a floating intake structure can be designed to blend in with or even enhance its environment.

Treated water pipeline: an underground conduit that delivers treated water to residents and businesses.
